"Technical Assistance for Fly Rods"
Attention: CFT is not accepting Rod Orders at this time.

CFT offers custom-built fly rods made by Robin for a base price of $150 plus materials costs. Base price excludes "fancy" wrapping, action customizing, and blanks of more than 2 pieces or blanks not purchased from CFT. Base price includes finishes, glues, threads, and labor. Typical materials include: rod blank, reel seat, grip, tiptop, guides, hook keeper, and winding check. All materials must be purchased through CFT. Special arrangements regarding client-provided materials can be accommodated. The following rods are available at this time:  
CFT Private Label Series:

 

 8'6" for 5/6, 6/7, or 7/8 weight lines
9'0" for 7,8,9 or10 weight lines
9'0" for 5/6 weight line
(all Private Label rods are 2 piece rods)
Typical Private Label rods cost about $220.00
CFT West Coast Series:
3 weight in 7'8"
4 weight in 7'0" & 9'0"
5 weight in 7'6", 8'0",8'6",9'0",9'6", or 10'0"
6 weight in 8'0",8'6",9'0",9'6",10'0", or 10'6"
7 weight in 8'6",9'0",9'6",10'0", or 10'6"
8 weight in 9'0",10'0", or 10'6"
9 weight in 9'0" or 10'0"
10 weight in 9'0"
12 weight in 9'0"

CFT Travel Series:
4 piece models:
6 weight in 8'6" 4 piece West Coast Series
(any CFT rod may be special ordered  in 4 piece version)
3 piece models:
8'9" for 2 weight
9'0" for 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 or 12 weights
Typical Travel Rods cost about $50 - $75 more than their 2 piece counterparts, depending upon manufacturer and model.
CFT Custom Series:
Rods may be built to order using any manufacturers'
blank specified.  Costs will vary according to availability and manufacturer.   There are no typical costs; costs range from $175  to $750.
All CFT rods are built to order and not previously stocked. Occasionally finished rods will be available in stock at special prices. Workmanship on all rods is guaranteed for as long as you own it. Materials guarantees are handled through the manufacturer, but most, if not all materials carry a lifetime guarantee. Warranties and guarantees for individual components will be made available prior to ordering. Availability of any particular blank or component cannot be guaranteed -- substitutions will be made only after confirmation by you.
     All CFT supplied rod blanks are high modulus IM6 graphite. We also have G. Loomis® and St. Croix® blanks available. You can specify blanks by other manufacturers, but will be charged at the standard retail rate for available blanks.  For Pacific Bay®, G. Loomis®, and St. Croix® we charge a substantially discounted price.
    Components regularly used include Pacific Bay®, Fugii®, Bellinger®, Gudebrod®, U-40® and REC®. Components by other major manufacturers are used when requested or if called for by the design of the rod under the same conditions for rods above.
    And remember: Anything is possible if you're willing to be patient and pay for it! - - "Anything worthwhile is worth waiting a while for."

ORDERING INFORMATION
Please e-mail with requests for quotes or to discuss a particular rod. We accept Mastercard/Visa (No Discover cards, please), check or money order (we'll even accept cash when it can be personally transferred). For custom rods, you will be billed for parts up-front and the balance upon acceptance.  If you use a credit card, we will bill you for parts initially and when the rod is accepted we will bill for the balance.
